When we asked our mini- and maxi- riding kids why scooting on Halloween was so much fun, we expected to hear it was because their kickboards made it possible to collect more tootsie rolls per square mile.
So we were glad when their answers didn’t include the idea of being able to collect more candy, because kids already bring home a scary amount of treats, the only comfort being it is nearly impossible to consume all they collect. After the initial euphoria, at our house anyway, the bags end up on a shelf, more like Halloween ‘trophies’.
Our youngest, at age 5, said he loved riding the Mini Kickboard on Halloween because it helped him get past the scariest trick-or-treaters…turns out the grown-ups, who increasingly join in the fun these days by wearing costumes, made Harry a bit nervous last year, Dracula in XL being much scarier to him than Dracula in XS. I did notice a scurrying quality to his movements, but thought it was eagerness for more treats.
Our eldest, at age 11, loved riding her Maxi because she and friends were able to go to various friend’s houses, all several blocks apart, something they could not have achieved in the time allotted, had they been on foot.
For both kids the kickboard colors accentuated their Halloween costumes nicely – she sported a witch costume on a purple maxi, extra scary… and he was a policeman on a blue mini, extra official.
Mini and Maxi in Halloween colors, just for fun!
Mini Kick Scooters are available in green and orange and Maxi Kick Scooters are available in orange, green, black and purple.
The Sprite, new and gorgeous in Rusty Red, is the latest 2-wheel scooter by Micro, Switzerland, great for adults and kids.

If you are looking for a 2-wheel scooter, for either an adult or a child, the Sprite is worth considering for its cool style, exceptional quality and great value.
The Sprite is such a lovable 2-wheel scooter that we sometimes say it is ideal for everyone, but in reality choosing just the right scooter requires a little more precision, and, since micro makes so many different styles, there is sure to be one that is precisely right for every size and shape of scooter user.
While all the 2-wheel scooters made by micro are designed to hold riders up to 220lbs, the larger or heavier adults (above 5ft 9in and 175 lbs) will feel sturdier on one of the more robust 2-wheel scooters, such as the Black and the White – these are micro’s tallest, fastest and most elegant 2-wheel scooters.
The Sprite is ideal for most kids, as the lowest setting on its extendable t-bar is at 22 inches above the deck, making it very comfortable for kids as young as age 5 to master, and the t-bar extends to 34 inches, making it a nice ride for most adults under 5ft.10 in.
So, as the elfin name suggests, the Sprites is most appropriate for smaller or lightweight adults, and for kids 5 years and up.
In addition to the rusty red color, the Sprite comes in 2 other hot colors….new black and silver.
We think the Sprite offers a great value. It features micro’s best qualities, at a truly great price.
Here are some of the more notable micro features:
style - the Sprite is sleekly designed and the rusty red color is unique and cool, for both kids or adults.
solid construction - you won’t shake & rattle when you roll.
smoothest possible glide - the Sprite’s Italian-made wheels are made of the highest quality polyurethane, which means they take the bumps pretty nicely and are virtually noiseless – the quiet ride is one of our most favorite features and you get it on all the two-wheel scooters made by micro.
parkability – to park your Sprite, find a teeny space, put the kickstand in the down position, and lock it!
portability – the sprite is so lightweight (about 5.5 lbs), so easy to fold and so easy to carry, that instead of parking it, you can just carry it with you, to class or into the store or office.

The Sprite has a Modular Construction, which means that every part is replaceable -
So, if at any time:
a wheel wears out
a brake breaks
a spring loosens
or any part needs replacing just call us @ t: 888.236.5657and we will send out the replacement part, with instructions, to you, toute suite, for a reasonable price that includes shipping.
Replacing parts on your scooter is fun and easy… just watch our Repair Videos, by head of Customer Service.
Or, you can send your scooter to us and we’ll replace the part for you.
In summary, when you buy a Kick® scooter made by micro, if you play your cards right (keep those wheels clean), keep us in the loop (call us with any problems) and replace parts as needed (www.kickboardusa.com) your Sprite in rusty red can stay as good as new, make that ‘as great as new’, ad infinitum!

The Flex is a micro original and a classic, and now it’s updated with larger, superfast wheels, a new brake that represents the latest in braking technology, a taller steering stick, and a gorgeous electric blue metallic color.
Named for its flexible, patented deck – a marine-ply and fiberglass ‘sandwich’ that creates an unimaginably smooth ride, the Flex is this year’s most popular new model, changing the way adults think about scooters.

The Flex is one of our favorites and its upgraded features put it at the top of our list of scooters to recommend to any adults looking to shave some time off their commute, or just for kickin around.
One of the Flex’s best features are its ‘rebounding’ wheels, with extra thick PU shore coating and performance-grade bearings that resist high pressures, creating a supremely quiet, quality ride. The new 200m wheel size means riders will get maximum glide with minimum effort, nice if you are out for an easy ride. Those looking to get someplace fast will be impressed with the speeds the new Flex can achieve!
The new brake design, which allows for greater speed-control on hills is easy to use and effective.
We love the extra tall t-bar handle with a maximum height of 37 inches above the deck (41 inches from the ground), which accommodates most adults up to about 6ft. The max rider load of 220 lbs also accommodates most adults.
The hand grips are luxuriously comfortable, even after a long ride. Made of padded foam from quality non-toxic materials, and fitted with rounded rubber plugs on the ends to prevent injuries and protect the scooter from damage, the hand grips are a good example of the little things micro does that make a big difference.
The body is made from polished aluminum, with a gorgeous blue finish.
The quick and easy double-button patented folding system means the Flex can be folded up easily and carried inside, a simple-to-use mechanism offering convenience and portability. Add an over-the-shoulder strap and a scooter bag for maximum portability.
At just 9+ lbs, the Flex is lightweight enough to simply pick up and carry.
Stylish, convenient, safer than a bicycle, faster than walking, and greener than a car ride.
The Flex in Electric Blue, an amazingly comfortable ride, is available through Kickboard USA and at stores across the country.
The flex’s modular construction means that virtually every part is replaceable. Kickboard USA maintains a comprehensive Parts and Repair Service to fix and replace any parts.

Are you Traveling this Summer or Planning Your Adventures Closer to Home?
Either way, when you travel, if you take your scooters and kickboards AND your video camera, you can enter our Summer Travel & Adventure Video Contest by capturing your travel adventure in a video and posting it on Facebook, or sending it to us directly.
All contestants must register below.
We will have ONE contest through the end of July and if we have an enthusiastic response, we will continue with another contest through the end of August.
There will be 1 winner for each of these categories:
-
Greatest Adventure (regardless of destination)
-
Best Style on a Kickboard (we are referring to the style of riding… e.g. how’s your surfin’ ? )
-
Most Original (this category we are leaving as undefined… kids are so unpredictable!)
Winners will be able to choose from any of our 15 styles of scooters or kickboards.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will feature one Scooter or Kickboard each day, to help the winners choose WHICH KICK? and to introduce some of our newer models to you.
Also, a big thanks to our Kickboard friends who recently sent us videos of their travels, inspiring us to create this contest. (please feel free to enter them to the contest!)
One mum sent an amazing video of her family’s trip to Rome, where they whizzed through Rome, even on the cobbled streets, having a ball! She said that everyone told her not to take the kickboards, ‘because of the cobblestones, the crazy traffic, etc.’ but she did anyway, and click here to see the result (Edited by Sophie).
The ironic thing about that was that our Kickboard Family recently went to Rome as well, but we didn’t take our scooters… because of the cobble stones, and the traffic. So, it was funny, and wonderful, to see one of our customers who’d been braver than us. Reminded me of the ‘cobbler’s children going barefoot’!
For the record, we otherwise always travel with our kickboards. This year we have been to NY, Chicago, Dallas, Miami and Washington DC, and have always been amazed at the distances we can cover with our young children. Everyone knows young kids do not tend to like long journeys on foot (my hat off to the parents who have achieved another result) but even when parents have raised a long distance toddler, it’s unusual to see a young child surpassing average speeds of 1 mph, for more than a minute anyway, which can restrict travel. A bit. Yet another surpise for us in taking our scooters, was how as parents, we too felt invigorated and energized after a long day of touring – the ease of getting around on the scooters and kickboards helped us do be ‘marathon tourists’!
We promise to video our next journey, but in the meantime, we would love to see yours!

Again, we found it nearly impossible to select just 3. We laughed and smiled at each photo, writing ‘winner’ next to just about every name during the initial review! There was so much personality and heart in all the photos, and so editing the list down to just a few was not easy – we really loved them all, and think you all deserve prizes. So, although there are just 3 scooters being given away each week, we will, at the end of the contest on Jan 31, announce our Honorable Mention Awards, so stay-tuned.
