We love visiting campuses and helping student organizations raise money!

Most recently we celebrated Earth Day by going to Central Michigan University where we brought Kick® scooters, the latest in “green” transportation.

Next on our list is a trip to University of Chicago in partnership with Scooterversity, we can’t wait to see Scooterversity in action – it’s the great new scooter biz at University of Chicago, set up by a couple of UChicago geniuses to scooters for transport on campus. On April 27, 2012 you can check us both out in Tent F at Earth Fest on the U of C campus!

GlobeMed will be hosting a Kickboard Campus-sponsored fundraiser on May 4 at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Stop by to support a great cause!

Her Campus loves our Kick® White Scooter, and we have to admit the executive team makes the White look pretty good. It may be just a case of reflected glory – Her Campus has won so many accolades for their business savvy they look good everywhere. They won Bloomberg BusinessWeek’s 25 Under 25 Best Young Entrepreneurs, Inc. magazine’s 30 Under 30 Coolest Young Entrepreneurs, and $50K Gold Winners and Best All-Around Team in MassChallenge. Anyway, thank you Her Campus for loving the White as much as we do, and we wondered if you’d seen the Hugh Jackman photo on the Kick® White?

Family Scoot – Celebrity Style

Blossoms are everywhere and the fresh air of Spring is irresistible for family outings. This year we are having a ball scooting as a family – so we thought it was especially fun to see these press photos of Hugh Jackman (no introduction required) out and about with daughter Ava on a Maxi Kick, son Oscar on a Monster Bullet, and with above with his French Bulldog. Green Idea Contest

Leprechauns and the new green grass
outside our office inspired us to name March the GREEN Month. To celebrate, we asked Kickboard Kids to create some big green ideas to help Planet Earth (our favorite place to live) become greener and cleaner. We received so many wonderful entries, it was nearly impossible to choose. The lucky (and talented) 7 winners are:

*Devin Flaherty – for his re-cycled knee pads (using Kickboard box) and for sharing his ‘recipe’ for knee pads with all of us – we were so impressed with the product and with the presentation, and we liked his smile too!
*Liza Neftin – for her drawing of a Scooter that generates enough power to run an iPod – a great drawing and a great idea (micro in Switzerland is actually working on a similar concept, really:))
*Woodward family – Lindsey and Hannah, for their big earth drawings and big earth cleaning ideas – we loved the level of detail in their ideas and drawings and the way they made all the people ‘on’ the earth look different.
*Cornell family – Ollie and Harry, for their drawings and ideas (on wrinkled recycled paper) of the trash eating monster, with see-through tummy so you can see what trash it ate and also, its heart, so we know it’s nice, and for the Scooter Car, a car propelled by a scooter, just put your foot down and say ‘vroom’ to go faster. Bubbles over the car included to keep rain away.
*Casas family – Cate and Fletcher, for their wonderful drawings and detailed idea of a Big Green Trash Machine, complete with compost machine for feeding the plants.
*Griffin Cardillo, for his great idea and drawing of scooters with brooms!
*Amanda Ricks Espersen’s daughter (sorry, we will update with her name if you send it) for her lovely drawing of the Space Magnet, in which she exercises a talent for thinking ahead, by creating a way to keep the Universe clean!

Winners will receive a Green Scooter and everyone who entered will receive a GREEN Award which includes a special bonus prize of a Super Woofy Scooter Buddy and our delicious Mini and Maxi M&M’s, mmm, AND a very special promo code, for use through the end of April (please contact us if you need to use it later in the year, instead).

Green Idea Winners should contact davd@kickboardusa.com to inform of your choice of green scooter, as should Green Award recipients.

Please note: in a couple cases the parents entered drawings for 2 children…and we decided to declare the family as the winner of one scooter, hope that is ok, happy to explain further if needed…

Winners will be announced and contacted Saturday, March 17, 2012 by 12pm EST.

Green Thoughts from O’Kickboard USA

We love Leprechauns, or at least the idea of them – small and mischievous like children, they help us celebrate a day when we all like to get up to a bit of mischief…from pretending to be Irish, pouring green dye into rivers, or even just riding green Minis or Maxis in the Parade – Leprechauns light the way on St. Patrick’s Day.

Going Green – We think of our scooters as ‘green’ transport, they’re a great fume-free way to get around town, and we decided it was time to make our entire operation roll that way. So this month, we’re starting an Eco-Friendly drive to get greener, inside and out – we’ll make our packaging, shipping, recyling and waste – all kinder to planet Earth. After all, Earth is our favorite place to live!

Big Green Idea contest – Win Green Minis and Maxis! On March 7 we’ll be announcing a Big Green Idea contest for kids, in which we’ll ask kids to conjure up some big ideas for helping keep our planet Green. Prize-winners will receive Green Minis, Maxis, or our gorgeous Metallic Green Rocket with Fat wheels. Winners Announced March 17. More details March 7.
